The martensitic steel known as Alloy Steel F91 has been alloyed with molybdenum (0.9–1.1%) and chromium (8–9%), giving it remarkable strength and hardness. While the molybdenum adds to better creep resistance and general durability at high temperatures, the high chromium content improves resistance to oxidation and corrosion. Because of this, F91 steel is a great choice for applications where traditional carbon steels would not hold up.
