A nickel, chromium, and molybdenum alloy called Hastelloy C22 is made to withstand a variety of extreme conditions with exceptional resilience. Because of its outstanding resistance to corrosion, it is the perfect material for piping systems in harsh industries like petrochemical, chemical processing, and marine applications. Hastelloy C22 is mostly composed of nickel (around 56%), chromium (22%), and molybdenum (13%). It has good resistance to oxidizing and reducing environments. This alloy exhibits exceptional efficacy in mitigating stress corrosion cracking caused by chlorides, a prevalent issue in numerous corrosive settings. Outstanding resistance to oxidizing acids is provided by the high chromium concentration, and resistance to reducing acids is improved by the molybdenum level.
Apart from its ability to withstand corrosion, Hastelloy C22 also has remarkable mechanical characteristics. It can also be used in high-temperature situations since it keeps its excellent strength and ductility at high temperatures. Additionally, the alloy has a high weldability, which makes pipe system fabrication and assembly easier.
