A high-carbon version of the popular 304 stainless steel, stainless steel 304H is prized for its improved mechanical qualities and stronger resistance to high temperatures. This alloy belongs to the family of stainless steels known as austenitic stainless steels, which are distinguished by their nickel-chromium content. More specifically, 304H has a higher carbon content (0.04% to 0.10%) than regular 304 steel, which makes it more suited for uses requiring increased strength and creep resistance at high temperatures. Excellent corrosion resistance, high tensile strength, and superior oxidation resistance are the main characteristics of 304H stainless steel tubes. It is perfect for use in applications where there is moderate to high heat since it keeps its toughness and durability across a wide range of temperatures.
